Fort Explorer

Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 3, 2026
App: Fort Explorer
Package ID: com.prakrut.fortexplore
Developer: Prakrut

Summary: Fort Explorer is an offline-first guide to Maharashtra forts. We do not operate user accounts or backend servers. Information you enter (profile, favorites, tracked forts, theme, and language) is stored only on your device. We do not sell your data.

1. Who we are

Fort Explorer (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a mobile application that helps you browse fort information, save favorites, and track forts you plan to visit. This policy explains how the app handles information.

2. Information we collect

We do not collect personal information on our own servers because the app has no login system and no developer-operated backend in version 1.0.

The following data may be stored locally on your device using Hive storage:

Data typeExamplesPurpose

App preferencesLight/dark theme, language (English/Marathi)Remember your settings

Tracked fortsFort IDs you mark with TrackShow trek progress on your profile
Onboarding stateWhether you completed the first-run tourAvoid showing the intro every launch

Fort descriptions, photos, and coordinates bundled with the app are public reference content, not personal data.

3. How we use information

Locally stored data is used only to:

  • Personalize your profile and app settings
  • Remember favorites and tracked forts between sessions
  • Improve your in-app experience

We do not use this data for advertising or profiling.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not upload your profile, favorites, or tracked forts to our servers.

Data may leave your device only in these limited cases:

  • Device backup: If you enable Android or iOS cloud backup, your app data may be included in the device backup managed by Google or Apple under their respective privacy policies.
  • Google Maps (optional): If you use map-related features, map tiles and location services are provided by Google. Google may process data according to the Google Privacy Policy. Location permission is requested only when a map feature that needs it is active.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by applicable law.

5. Analytics, advertising, and crash reporting

Version 1.0 of Fort Explorer does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash reporting tools. If we add these in a future update, this policy will be updated before or when they are enabled.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your data remains on your device until you change or remove it in the app, clear app storage, or uninstall Fort Explorer. Uninstalling the app typically deletes local app data unless restored from a device backup.

7. Children’s privacy

Fort Explorer is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through our own services. The app does not require an account or age verification.

8. Security

Because data stays on your device, its security also depends on your device settings (screen lock, OS updates, and backup choices). We recommend keeping your device software up to date.

9. Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Edit or delete profile fields in the Profile screen
  • Remove favorites or tracked forts at any time
  • Clear all app data via Android/iOS app settings
  • Uninstall the app to remove local data from the device

Depending on your region, you may have additional privacy rights. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

10. International users

Fort Explorer is developed in India and may be used worldwide. Local data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers in version 1.0.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted in the app or on the Play Store listing.

12. Google Play Data safety

For the Google Play Data safety form, you can generally declare:

  • No data is collected or shared by the developer through app servers
  • User-provided profile fields and app activity (favorites/tracking) are stored locally on device
  • Optional map features may involve Google as a third-party service provider
